J’ai découvert ce nouveau personnage grâce a ma partenaire de Japonais Akiyo, qui m’a gentillement offert un album de la série pour mon anniversaire en juin. Ce chat est diabolique…he he he! Enfin, les dessins le sont! Effectivement, on le trouve au rayon livre jeunesse mais il existe aussi des romans de ses histoires. Cette série de livre raconte l’histoire d’une ménagerie d’animaux qui ressemblent plutôt a des enfants terribles plutôt qu’a des chats! Les histoires ont des cotes un peu noirs et même des sorcières qui se saoulent!! Ce qui rend cette collection de livre intéressante pour les enfants et les parents.
I was introduced to this character by Akiyo, my Japanese conversation partner who gave me a book of the series in June for my birthday. Dayan features a charming menagerie of walking and talking critters who act more like mischievous children than animals. There are some slightly dark, less-than-politically correct twists in this story, like the witches’ taste for alcohol. This keeps it fun and interesting for adults. The stories are charming, with distinctive and appealing artwork that will please to kids and adults.

Il n’est pas midi a Paris comme le veut la tradition de la photo du 15 mais ca l’est ici au Japon! Voici la photo du mois pour septembre avec pour theme:”Autour du livre”. Quand les Japonais ne jouent pas avec leurs telephones portables dans le train ou dans la rue et bien ils lisent que ce soit des mangas, des romans, des revues ou des journaux!Impressionant!
It’s not noon in Paris yet as the tradition of the picture of the month requires but it’s in Japan! September’s theme is : Books. Japanese are reading a lot of books, magazines and other publications when they don’t have their nose in their cell phone. It’s quite impressive to see people reading when in line, standing in the train, at a cafe…
L’image vient de notre magasin local ou l’on peut louer des dvds mais aussi acheter des livres et mangas d’occasion. Ici le manga c’est 1.85 euros la piece!
The picture here was taken at our local store where you can rent dvds but also buy second-hand books and manga. Here they are sold for $2.5 a piece.
